OpenIM - a public XMPP server

A free and open XMPP server dedicated to privacy and security. We believe in freedom of communication without surveillance or corporate control.

A decentralized alternative to major chat platforms. We run a stable server that doesn't collect, sell, or misuse your data. Your messages are yours.

Getting Started

1. Install a Client

Choose an XMPP client for your device:

Android: Conversations
iOS: Monal or Siskin IM
Desktop: Gajim (Windows/Linux) or Beagle IM (macOS)

2. Register an Account

Open your client and create a new account using openim.nl as the server. Registration is free and open to everyone. See Privacy & Security for rules and info.
